Sourish Chakravarty Selected as Finalist for Melosh Competition

Sourish Chakravarty, a recent PhD graduate from MAE, has been selected as one of the finalists of Melosh Competition in 2016. He will travel to Duke University on April 29, 2016 to compete in the final phase of the competition.

Using big data to power an energy revolution

Announced Monday, the NSF plan centers on creating four Big Data Innovation Hubs. UB will work in the Northeast hub, a $1.25 million initiative led by Columbia University that includes a few dozen universities, as well as partners in industry, government and nonprofits. Read more here

Venkat Krovi named ASME Fellow

Congratulations to MAE Professor Venkat Krovi who has recently been named and ASME fellow.  Professor Krovi has continually made significant contributions to and is an internationally recognized expert in the field of robotics.

Abani Patra will be leading UB's work in the Big Data innovation hub.

Prof. Puneet Singla awarded Associate Fellow of AIAA

Professor Puneet Singla was awarded Associate Fellow of Associate Fellow in the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA). AIAA Associate Fellows are individuals of distinction who have made notable and valuable contributions to the arts, sciences, or technology of aeronautics or astronautics. Each year, only one for every 150 voting members are selected and approved. Congratulations to Professor Puneet Singla!
